Photographer: Koto Bolofo
The shoot took place in a small "Tom Thumb" hair and beauty boutique salon in the centre of London. I believe if that’s where the people's environment is, I adapt and make the best of it.
My approach is to present myself not as photographer, but a person who introduces one with their eyes, sound, smell and touch. I never want to come in looking like a technical box that has no feelings, my camera is really my invisible paint brush that I paint with using whatever light is available. I never bring any lights to my personal joy of life shootings.
Technical details for me are a real bore. I am like a child and I want to get stuck in there and waste no time. This way hopefully a mistake becomes a unique photograph. By the way, I still love the magic of taking photographs with "LONG LIVE FILM".
Today it's rare in our fast world to stop, look and feel and really take something in and say, “That fed one’s soul.” The World in London has fed my soul and most of all opened a door to discovering other great photographers with timeless minds.
