During my visit to the Anglo-Bolivian Society lunch to meet potential sitters I approached Oscar. He had a striking face and I wanted someone of his age group. He agreed and I asked to visit him at home and take a portrait of him.
I really wanted to contribute a portrait that would be honest, genuine and, ideally, with a stranger. I saw the opportunity to learn about a new culture and meet new people. The Society really welcomed me in, and were very proud and enthusiastic towards the idea.
It is an exciting opportunity to be exhibited and collaborate with so many talented and creative photographers, all of whom will have taken their own journey on the assignment. The idea of demonstrating the wealth of culture within our city is something I greatly encourage.
