Photographer: Paul Trevor
I'm a poet and the war in Bosnia, at the beginning of the nineties, brought me to London. My first memories of London are the smell of damp carpets, constantly explaining the war to somebody, and thinking that £50 would last me for months.
I like to walk through the parts of London that are emptied of people's interest, like the City on a Sunday. I also love to look down upon London from very high buildings whenever possible, and up, from the river.
I would call myself a Londoner because I moan about London only to other Londoners. I found the experience of being photographed pleasant. Paul was clicking away while I was talking to someone, so nothing special was required of me.
